Zinedine Zidane is pushing for Real Madrid to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco after Los Blancos missed out on signing the exciting forward three years ago, with talk of an €80 million deal being arranged, according to AS.
The Spanish daily reckons that Mbappe, 18, who has just earned his first call-up to the France national team, was recommended to Real by Zidane in 2014 and even visited the Valdebebas training centre and met Cristiano Ronaldo before signing for Monaco instead.
Mbappe has made a massive impression this season, scoring 10 goals in 21 Ligue 1 appearances and finding the back of the net home and away against Manchester City in the Champions League, leading to the reigning European champions setting their sights on signing him.
The report claims that Cury is the man who convinced Neymar to move to Barca in 2013 and, as such, the Catalan club have great faith in his ability to convince 16-year-old Vinicius to follow suit.
It is said Flamengo want to tie the player, who has a €30m release clause, to a longer contract and a larger buyout fee in light of interest from Barca and Real. Although it could come down to who is willing to cut the biggest cheque, the Blaugrana hope that having Cury involved will give them the edge.
